Revolutionary Greetings to all Comrades and Friends:

There are those that think that now that Fujimori and Montesinos have left their posts we will see a real change in Peru. There are those that think that the People's War in Peru is finished, is "pacified".

To those that think that democracy will come to Peru now that the regime changes faces, and that the People's War is finished, we pose the questions: Why must Yankee imperialism militarize the region with the so-called "Colombia Plan"? To be regional peacekeepers? How is it that the Party has carried out even more advanced forms of military actions, such as anti-aircraft attacks, and why has the "Annihilation" plan of the reactionary armed forces been such a miserable failure, unable to penetrate the Support Bases which the Party has raised as the New Power, developing stronger each day?

The lies of the imperialists, reactionaries and revisionists seek to attack the New Power, the People's Republic of Peru in formation, and the People's War, which shines as a bright red banner on the globe, a torch for the people's wars of the world, and the vanguard of the world revolution. They must resort to every means available to them including psychological warfare to try to rob the people of the world of their leadership.

It is the task of all revolutionaries and those that sympathize with the revolution to defend it, and its leaders, from the attack of the enemy. These attacks are expressed by the reactionary media, and even by so-called supporters, who try to raise doubts about the Party's march to victory, about the integrity of its leadership. We cannot accept this, and we must denounce this in deeds.

It is in light of this that the New Peru Friendship Association has planned an important event in order to shed light on the subject with the intent of mobilizing a forceful campaign in defense of the People's War and the life of Chairman Gonzalo, who is the great leader of the Communist Party of Peru and the Peruvian revolution.

We will be holding a public meeting on January 6, 2001 from 3-6pm at 208 W. 30th Street, New York, NY (Manhattan) in room 211.

We will cover many topics of great importance to all the friends and supporters of the People's War, including: the current situation in Peru, the development of the People's War, and the need to develop the campaign of defense of the life of Chairman Gonzalo and the urgent need to send a delegation to Peru. The main speech will be made by the MPP, the generated organism of the Communist Party of Peru for the party work abroad.

You are welcome to attend and participate in this activity, which will serve the development of support work in the United States for the heroic People's War being waged by the Communist Party of Peru, under the Great Leadership of Chairman Gonzalo.
